Shana Scarlett is a partner at international plaintiffs’ rights law firm Hagens Berman, where she serves as managing partner of the firm’s Berkeley office, a robust antitrust hub focused on returning tangible results to those harmed by price-fixing agreements. Her work has led to tremendous recoveries for consumers in the markets of e-books, various meat production – including pork, turkey, beef and chicken, employment and poaching in the fields of animation and meat production, as well as pharmaceuticals, demonstrating her breadth of knowledge and expertise in antitrust and price-fixing litigation.
Shana’s recent successes include the following: In re Broiler Chicken Antitrust Litig., co-lead counsel for indirect purchaser class ($181 million recovery to date), In re Optical Disk Drive Antitrust Litigation ($180 million in settlements), In re Lithium Ion Batteries Antitrust Litigation ($65 million in settlements), In re Animation Workers Antitrust Litigation ($168.95 million in settlements) and In re Electronic Books Antitrust Litigation ($566 million in settlements). She also is active in Klein v. Meta Platforms, in which she was appointed co-lead counsel for a consumer class against Facebook for gaining a monopoly through deceptive data use and collection practices.
Shana’s track record stands out in a firm where sizable settlements and noteworthy and impactful victories are routinely achieved. Her notable cases have earned her a spot on the Northern California Super Lawyers compendium since 2013. In her 21-year career, Shana has successfully moved for certification of nationwide classes of purchasers and compelled production of secret recordings made during an FBI investigation of co-conspirators during the criminal investigation which preceded a civil antitrust suit.
